Hosting an Event

Hosting a show is a large commitment but can be very beneficial to you and your organization, as  well as our artisans. We will work with you to help coordinate the show by mapping out the location of vendors, contacting our members to participate in your show, call for additional vendors, and we will coordinate the graphics for your show. 

Types of Shows
The Michigan Artisans will do a variety of show types in several locations including:
  • Benefits/Causes
  • Condo Associations
  • Holiday Parties
  • Home Shows
  • Ladies Night
  • Retirement Homes

How to Apply to Host a Show
Hosting a show is a joint effort between you and Michigan Artisans. The first step to hosting a show is filling out the application below.  Please remember you must be approved in order to host a Michigan Artisans show. Once you have been approved to host a Michigan Artisans show, and the date has been selected we will work with you to make the event go as smoothly as possible. 

In Order to Qualify to Host a Show, You Must
  • Have a location for the show, or be in the process of securing a location
  • Submit a Host Application
  • Be approved to Host a Michigan Artisans Show

Location Qualifications
  • Locations for Michigan Artisans shows must be large enough to accommodate several vendors 
  • Although free venues are preferred to keep the cost of the show down, a venue that charges for their space will work as well. If a venue does charge for their space, we will work with you to help offset the charges. We can lower the costs for you and our vendors with ticket sales and raffles. 
  • We do not expect every space to have the equipment that our vendors may need. It is always preferred if a location has tables, chairs and electrical options for vendors. We will help coordinate with our vendors and the location of the event to make sure all of the vendors needs are met for the show. 
  • Locations must be available for a preliminary walk through, as well as several hours before and after each show for set up and take down of all of the vendors. We will help coordinate these details with the hosting location before each show is booked and vendors are contacted. 

Contacting and Advertising
No matter what the size of you show is, we can help you advertise for your show. This includes email blasts, signage design and even mailing invites to list for you. If you are interested using our communication options, please let us know on your application. This will help be included in your cost estimate. 

Cost of Hosting a Show
The cost of hosting a show in dependent upon the size of the show, the amount of vendors and the reason for the show. Each show is evaluated during the application phase. The cost will be a low base charge and will help offset the up front costs of the show. Often these costs will be offset by the money raised by tickets, entry fees or raffles. 

Fundraising
If you are hosting a show to raise money for a benefit or a cause we will work with you with to reduce the cost of hosting a show. The percentage of the ticket sales, entry fees or raffles that we normally take will be reduced to help raise more money for your cause.
